Sweden 1984 Mint Set

This set was made up by the Swedish Mint in 1984; it contains all six coins issued for circulation. But the coins are in Prooflike Uncirculated and far better than the normal coins would look like. The set comes in a blue and gold hard plastic case, showing both sides of the coins. The set contains the 5, 10, 25 & 50 Ore as well as the 1 & 5 Kronor coins all in Prooflike Uncirculated condition. The set is now 35 years old and I would guess not all that easy to find. The set is sealed by the Swedish Royal Mint.

Ancient India Elephant

We were offered a group of ancient Indian copper coins recently; they were issued between 59- 131 AD. They have an elephant on one side and some circles on the other side. They were very crudely struck; after all they were a very low denomination at the time. They are from Satavahanas, Pulomavi in India. We went through 2,000 coins in the hoard and picked out the best ones available. We went for the best elephants that we could find, in fact we bought only 10% of the hoard, and these were the only ones that we thought were of sufficient quality for our customers. A very old coin but it won’t cost you the earth. As the elephant is now endangered, we think this ancient coin is very appropriate.

Rugged American Collection

The last time we had this set for sale it did very well. It was issued by the Canadian company ‘Husky Self Service Stations’ in 1970. They were struck by the famous, but no longer making coins, Franklin Mint. Each copper medallion depicts a famous figure from the old West and the collection comes with a booklet telling you who each one is and what they did. Plus a presentation card for displaying the whole collection. Each medallion is still in the original cellophane envelope that it was issued in. You get an eight page information booklet which not only tells you about the person on the medallion, but also an image of how they looked. Plus, a 4 page leaflet telling you about the issue of these medallions. Finally a full colour cardboard display card to mount and show off the entire collection of 13 pieces. The ‘cowboys’ depicted are: Buffalo Bill Cody, Wild Bill Hickok, Wyatt Earp, Kit Carson, Bat Masterson, Meriwether Lewis and William Clark. The Native Americans depicted are: Geronimo, Chief Joseph, Sitting Bull, Black Hawk, Sacajawea and Crazy Horse. There are a total of 13 different bronze medallions all in pristine, unopened, new condition. And remember this set is 48 years old! Don’t miss out on this one.
