Shri Lanka 1000 Rupees 2018 P130 Commemorative 70th Anniversary Independence Unc

In 2018, the island of Sri Lanka celebrated 70 years of Independence. To mark this important milestone event in the nation’s history the 1000 rupee note was given a special overprint celebrating the diversity of the population.(P130) The front shows the diversity of religions on the island with a church, mosque, Tamil Kovil and Temple illustrated. A Sri Lankan Hanging parrot is to the right. On the back a Davul Bera drummer and Malpadaya Netuma dancer with guardstone and floral motif are also depicted. Uncirculated.
