Talk about a RARE coin, this little aluminium 10 centavos of Portuguese Guinea was issued in 1973. They only made it for one year and they only struck 100,000 pieces and they are in Uncirculated condition. How Rare is it? Well the current edition of Krause World Coins catalogues it at $40.00 so we think our price is very reasonable.

Persia, Silver 1/8 Qirans (Krans), AH1271-Ah1342 (1854-1924) - New Year Gift!

We bought part of a hoard of choice Persian Silver coins, they are 1/8 Qirans but better known as ‘Shahi-e-safid’ or ‘White Sahi’ to distinguish them from the copper Sahis. They were struck not for circulation but to be given as gifts as an expression of friendship and good luck for the ‘Now Ruz’ New Year celebrations. They are beautiful little silver coins and in choice condition, struck between 1854-1924 when they stopped minting them so they are also about 100 years old or more but in almost perfect condition. Why not buy a few of these unusual coins to give out to friends at New Year's for something a bit different? They are priced at a level that we think you will appreciate and won’t hurt too much to be given away as gifts!
