Maria Theresa Thaler BU

Considered by many to be one of the most beautiful coins ever struck. It was struck at the Austrian Mint from 1780 until now. The fact is they still strike them today with the 1780 date on them. They are large silver coins that contain about 3/4 of an ounce of pure silver and they are in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. We have not had these for years, but a lucky buy has put them back into stock. But not at our original price of £28.50. A beautiful large silver coin, considered one of the most beautiful ever struck and at a £10.00 savings.

This coin was issued under Russia when it was the USSR, it is the largest denomination that was actually used every day as money. It is dated 1989 and it is dated both on the reverse and on the edge of the coin. You have the hammer and sickle on one side and the denomination on the other side. The current catalogue price is $30.00 in mint state 60 and there is no price for this coin in mint state 63, which they are. It is a scarce coin, in much better condition than they usually come. Rugged American Collection

The last time we had this set for sale it did very well. It was issued by the Canadian company ‘Husky Self Service Stations’ in 1970. They were struck by the famous, but no longer making coins, Franklin Mint. Each copper medallion depicts a famous figure from the old West and the collection comes with a booklet telling you who each one is and what they did. Plus a presentation card for displaying the whole collection. Each medallion is still in the original cellophane envelope that it was issued in. You get an eight page information booklet which not only tells you about the person on the medallion, but also an image of how they looked. Plus, a 4 page leaflet telling you about the issue of these medallions. Finally a full colour cardboard display card to mount and show off the entire collection of 13 pieces. The ‘cowboys’ depicted are: Buffalo Bill Cody, Wild Bill Hickok, Wyatt Earp, Kit Carson, Bat Masterson, Meriwether Lewis and William Clark. The Native Americans depicted are: Geronimo, Chief Joseph, Sitting Bull, Black Hawk, Sacajawea and Crazy Horse. There are a total of 13 different bronze medallions all in pristine, unopened, new condition. And remember this set is 48 years old! Don’t miss out on this one.

Wartime Churchill Crown

Over the years there have been a number of different countries that had made crownsized coins to honour Winston Churchill. But this is the first time that we've seen this Crown from Tristan da Cunha. It was issued in 2010 and shows him as Wartime Prime Minister. You have his portrait on one side with airplanes flying behind him and the British flag in red, white and blue. Queen Elizabeth II is on the obverse and the crown is proof and comes in a protective capsule. We were only able to buy 150 of these, once they are gone, they are gone.
