George VI, Florin 1945 Uncirculated

The Florin as a denomination was first issued only in 1848, under Queen Victoria. This 1945 Silver Florin is the penultimate year of issue of any Florin in Silver and as such we think that it is a very important coin for your collection. It was struck under King George VI. The coins on offer are in very high grades, About Uncirculated and Uncirculated. As most collectors know the Florin is the most difficult denomination to find, we don’t know why this is, but it just is. The coins are beautiful and struck in 500 fine silver, you will be proud to have one in your collection. Remember, the year after in 1849 was the last year ever that our coins were struck in silver.

George VI, Shilling (English) 1945 AU

World War II was over and our coinage was still struck in silver, something that would carry on for just one more year. Starting with his Coronation in 1937, the Shilling had been struck with both an English and a Scottish reverse. So this 1945 English Shilling is the penultimate English Shilling to be issued in silver. Here we offer the 1945 Shilling in Uncirculated condition. Remember these are still struck in 500 fine Silver.

Elizabeth II, Florin 1966 Unc

The last Florin issued for circulation was in 1967, the first year of issue was only 1849, so it is a short lived denomination. Also as a denomination the Florin has always been the most difficult one to get. I have some nice Uncirculated Queen Elizabeth II 1966 Florins. This the penultimate year of the whole denomination. Not easy to get, yet it is not an expensive coin.
