Ireland, George III Patina Pewter

We were told by the people who struck the Patina crownsized retro patterns that striking anything in Pewter was something they did not relish. It is hard to strike, it is messy to strike and they would rather use another metal. But these George III Ireland Patina retro patterns are struck in Proof Pewter and we think they look great. Forget the work and the mess the finished product is great. Because they were struck in Pewter, the mintages are limited. Get them while you can…

Picture of Australia, Edward VIII ,'Crown' Short Obv Legend, Goldine

Australia, Edward VIII ,'Crown' Short Obv Legend, Goldine

In the Patina series, there were two types of Edward VIII pieces issued, one with a long legend on the obverse and one with a short legend. This is the short legend type. You have the Crown and legend Commonwealth of Australia and the date 1937 on one side and the bare head of the King on the obverse. The short legend variety has larger lettering to help fill the space. We can offer them here in goldine (mintage of just 575 pieces). They are full crown sized and in Prooflike condition. Worth adding to your collection, as supplies are running short as is the legend.

George V, Halfcrown (Sterling Silver) 1917 circulated

The coinage of King George V was struck from 1911-1936. From 1911 until 1919 his coins were struck in Sterling Silver and from 1920-1936 they were struck in 500 fine Silver. Although there were crowns struck occasionally, on a regular basis the largest non gold coin struck was the Halfcrown or Two Shillings and Sixpence. The coin offered here is the 1917 Halfcrown in selected circulated condition, but let’s be honest the older the coin, the more circulation you can expect. We always give you the best coin we have in stock at that time.
