1939-1945 Star, World War II Medal_obv

1939-1945 Star, World War II Medal

At the end of World War II the Government awarded what is known as the 1939-1945 Star. You had to serve either 180 days of operational service or 60 days of operational flying to qualify to get this award. It is a star with cipher of King George VI in the middle and the legend 1939-1945 Star below. It has a light blue, red and dark blue ribbon and today is over 70 years old. We bought a nice group of these and are proud to be able to offer them to you. These were men and women who put their life on the line to make sure that you and I could live a free life. They are original and genuine and now over 70 years old.

Picture of Atlantic Star, World War II Medal

Atlantic Star, World War II Medal

This is in our opinion one of the Rarest of the World War II Stars. The Atlantic Star was instituted in May of 1945 to honour those who took place in the Battle of the Atlantic. It was mainly for those who were part of shipping convoys, a mission that many did not come back from. It was also for those who were their escorts and anti-submarine people. We've handled many World War II medals, but this is the first group of Atlantic Stars that we've had the privilege to offer. Complete with ribbon, for those brave sailors who fought against the U-boats. It is rare and teaches one humility.

Australia, George VI (World War II), Sixpence_Sterling Silver_obv

Australia, George VI (World War II), Sixpence (Sterling Silver) Circulated

From almost the other side of the world, or Australia to be exact, we offer King George VI Silver Sixpences that were struck during World War II. They are dated between 1939-1945 and are in selected circulated condition. An Australian friend sold them to us. Not an easy coin to find, as many of them were melted down after the Second World War. We think this is the first time we have offered them. Second World War, silver and King George VI have a lot going for them and they are Sterling Silver.

Belgium World War II Military Fighter Medallion

Belgium World War II Military Fighter Medallion

Issued to the brave men and women, who served in World War II from Belgium. It was issued at the end of World War II and is a rather handsome piece. You have the rampant lion of Belgium superimposed on a cross within a circle. The other side has a raised dagger or sword with the dates 1940 and 1945. It is a yellowy bronze metal and comes with a green, red, black, and yellow ribbon. We believe this is the first time that we have been able to offer this medallion, one that was given to the brave Belgium fighters who fought and won against great odds. We think you will like this simple but important medallion.

Picture of Belgium, Meulebeke, World War II Set of 4

Belgium, Meulebeke, World War II Set of 4

A scarce set of notes issued by the local authorities in Meulebeke, Belgium during World War II. The denominations are 1f, 5f, 10f and 20f and they are dated 11-6-1940. Each has the rubber stamp of the City on the back, when they were used they rubber stamped the name of the Burgemeester. They also have a pin hole in the centre which is from the spindle where they were put when redeemed. Without the signature and pin hole they were not valid. One set sold at an auction in Belgium recently for EUR300 (around £260). We had never seen them before but we managed to buy a small quantity of these notes recently and are able to offer them to our customers at a huge saving. They are very interesting notes and quite attractive given the circumstances under which they were printed. Get yours while stocks last.
