Elizabeth II, Small 5 Pence Silver Piedfort, 1990

Of all the Silver Piedforts that the Royal Mint have issued over the years, the 1990 silver piedfort five pence proof and 1992 silver piedfort ten pence proof are in our opinion the two that are the most over looked and thus less appreciated. That could be because one of them is very small but both are extremely important type coins and well worth having. They both signal the change in size of two of our most used coins, the Five Pence and the Ten Pence. They are also the only two denominations that were carried forward from Pre-Decimal coins to Decimal coins. They are the 5 Pence that was once known as a shilling and the 10 Pence that was once known as a Florin. In 1990 the greatly reduced the size of the 5 Pence coin and in 1992 the greatly reduced the size of the 10 Pence coin. Both of these special coins were struck in Piedfort or double thickness in Proof Sterling Silver by the Royal Mint. Offered here is the silver piedfort five pence in proof and it comes in a protective capsule. Important coins, are they in your collection?

George VI, Penny Brilliant Uncirculated, 1938

We think the bronze coins of King George VI are much underappreciated. The farthings are easy to get, but it's much more difficult to obtain nice Pennies and Halfpennies.
