1956, Elizabeth II, Farthing. Brilliant Uncirculated

The 1956 Farthing was the last ever Farthing minted, it is also the most difficult to get.
Availability: In stock
SKU: CLA6620

In 1956 the Royal Mint issued the last British Farthing ever. During the reign of Queen Elizabeth II only four Farthings were ever issued, 1953 for the Coronation, 1954, 1955 and the last ever one in 1956. The 1956 is also the rarest and most difficult date to get, especially in Brilliant Uncirculated condition.
When people realised that the Farthing was to be no more, they bought up most of the floating supply and they were sent to America.
