Edward VIII Pair of French Wedding Covers

This is a fantastic pair of wedding covers issued for the marriage of The Duke of Windsor to Mrs. Simpson. Edward had given up the throne for the love of his life, and finally they were allowed to marry. Unfortunately they could not marry in this country and had to marry in France. Also nothing was allowed to be issued in this country to celebrate the marriage. But on the 3rd of June 1937, in Monts, France they were wed. Two commemorative covers were issued one in French and one in English for the wedding, both of course, have French Stamps on them. The French one has an oval portrait and the English one a larger drawing of the happy couple. We have been out of these for years, but a friend found some and we were able to buy them from him. We have seen these covers advertised for as much as £99.00 the pair. We are selling them at a far more competitive price.
