2011_Silver_Eagle_obv

United States of America, 2011 Silver Eagle

It appears that as the newer Silver Eagles come out, the older pieces become more expensive. At least that seems to be what our supplier seems to be asking. So when these 2011 American Silver Eagles came in we were delighted. They have a nominal face value of just One Dollar, they contain one ounce of pure silver and are in Choice Brilliant Uncirculated condition. The quality is about as nice as you can get and they are one of the most beautiful modern coins that American makes. We only have 100 pieces, so while they last the price is very attractive. Get them while you can.

United States of America, 50 cents (100th Anniversary of the Statue of Liberty) Proof

In 1986 the United States celebrated the 100th anniversary of the Statue of Liberty. What many people don’t realise is that it was a gift from the French people. This coin a Half Dollar or 50 Cents has a view of the Statue of Liberty with the sun rising on one side. The other side has immigrants on Ellis Island seeing America for the first time. The coin is in Proof condition and comes with a plastic capsule as issued by the United States Mint. A beautiful coin and one that generates great feelings from the many people who moved to America and this was the first thing that they saw.

US-barber-dime-obv

United States of America, Barber Dime

Charles Barber was the Chief Engraver at the Philadelphia Mint in the United States. But he was also British and most collectors don’t know that. He designed many coins from the Dime (10c) to the Half Dollar. His coins circulated from 1892 to 1916, when the designs were replaced with others. We have always found that the smallest denomination, the Dime or 10 Cents is difficult to get hold of. The coins have the bust of Liberty on one side and the denomination on the other side. They are struck in 900 fine Silver and the coins on offer are in Very Good condition, especially considering that they are over 100 years old. If you have bought the other denominations, you will certainly want to add this denomination to your collection, but supplies are limited.

Buffalo_Nickel_1913 - 1938_1

United States of America, Buffalo Nickel, 1913 - 1938. In circulated condition.

US Buffalo Nickel, 1913. In circulated condition. First struck in 1913 and now 104 years old, this popular design was part of an attempt to make the US coinage more attractive. This five Cent coin features the head of a Native Indian on one side and an American Bison on the reverse. They quickly proved popular with the American public and despite concerns about how quickly the coins became worn in circulation, continued to be minted until 1938 when they were replaced by the Jefferson Nickel. All coins have a full date. Most coins are dated in the 1930s. Dates of our choice.

US Counterfeit Halfpenny_obv

United States of America, Counterfeit Halfpenny Very Well Worn

The Halfpennies of King George II and George III were heavily counterfeited at the time, because of a shortage of small change. Many of these underweight pieces were circulated in the American Colonies. There was a great shortage of coins there and any coin was better than none. The American dealers have been promoting these coins for some time. we have been putting them away for the last couple of years and we are now ready to offer them for sale, at what we think are much more realistic prices. Most of the coins are King George III but there are some King George II as well. All are counterfeit copper Halfpennies with the bust of the Monarch on one side and a seated figure of Britannia on the other side. Monarch, as well as date, are as they come, but we can offer them in very well worn. These were actually struck to look like used coins. In America they sell them for some incredible prices, we think our price is much more realistic. The more you order the more different dates and types we will try and give you, but supplies are limited. Please no dealer orders from the States at these prices.

United States of America, Damaged Quarters Proof Set

We bought a large group of the United States State Quarters in Proof condition. Each set contains five different US quarters representing five different States. The only problem is that they were not packed carefully enough, so that some of the cases cracked or broke in shipping. The coins are nice proofs, it is just the plastic case that did not make it totally intact. We are offering sets, dates of our choice, but the more you order the more different dates we will try and give you. United States set of five different State quarters in Proof condition at much less than our normal price. But quantities are limited and the coins are nice, it is only the case that has problems.

United States of America, Ike 1971 Dollar Silver Proof S

In 1971 the US Mint decided to mint new silver dollars. It is said that this was done to placate the casinos in Las Vegas. We don’t know about placating anyone... We love Las Vegas, the original Disney Land for adults. This was the first United States silver dollar struck since 1935, it was struck in 400 fine Silver Proof and it honoured Dwight David Eisenhower or ‘Ike’ as he was known. Ike was not only the Commander in Chief during World War II but he was also President of the United States for two terms. We have for sale a beautiful silver proof examples of this ‘new’ Silver Dollar dated 1971, that of course was 50 years ago. Still reasonably priced and it has a most interesting history.

Picture of United States of America, Lewis, Clark & Sacagawea Proof Dollars

United States of America, Lewis, Clark & Sacagawea Proof Dollars

The explorers Meriwether Lewis and William Clark decided to explore and map parts of America in 1804-6. They met the Lemhi Shoshone woman known as Sacagawea, who even though she had just had a child, agreed to help them. At one point a boat capsized and the journals and records fell into the water. It was Sacagawea who rescued these documents. The island nation of Fiji issued a commemorative Dollar to honour the trio in 2015. It has the 3 standing together and the reverse has the coat of arms of Fiji. It is gold-plated copper and in choice Proof condition. The United States also issued a small-sized dollar coin, but just to honour the Indian maiden Sacagawea. This is also struck in a yellow metal and in Proof condition. We are offering the Fiji and the American proof dollars as a pair, as it seems best that way. So you get the Proof dollar from Fiji and the proof dollar from the United States.

The new 2023 American Silver Eagle is new in a number of different ways! The reverse design has changed and the eagle is landing on a branch. It still has the nominal denomination of One Dollar and still contains one ounce of pure silver... The quality of the strike and finish is now superb and surprise surprise they have raised the price to the public. Picture of United States of America, Pair of American Olympic Proof Silver Dollars

United States of America, Pair of American Olympic Proof Silver Dollars

The United States held the Summer Olympics in 1984 in Los Angeles, California. these were the first Olympic Games to be professionally run and the first to make a profit. The United States Mint issued two Proof Silver Dollars to raise money to pay for these games. The difference between the cost and the selling price went to the Olympic Committee. In 1983 they issued a Silver Dollar with a modern triple vision of the Discus Thrower and the head of an American Bald Eagle on the reverse. In 1984 they issued a Silver Dollar with the nude but headless sculptures at the entrance to the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. The reverse had the American Bald Eagle in full stance. Both are struck in 900 fine silver. Today the Royal Mint charges £80.00 each for a silver Proof Crown, so I think that our price of £69.50 for both American Silver Dollars is quite fair; remember our price includes the Government’s 20% VAT!
