Canada, 1964 10c

In 1964 Canada still issued the 10 Cents, 25 Cents, 50 Cents and Dollar in Silver for general usage. They didn’t make Proof Sets but rather they called them Prooflike Sets. We have some of the 1964 Prooflike Silver Sets with the Charlottetown commemorative silver dollar. All the coins are in Prooflike Specimen condition. We are going to offer the coins separately; here we are offering the 1964 10c. Remember that the coins are now 55 years old and struck in silver.

Nigeria, 1959 1/2d

This bronze Halfpenny from the Federation of Nigeria is a one year type coin, the last coin of Nigeria with the legend Queen Elizabeth the Second. The coins are Brilliant Uncirculated but have mellowed just a bit over the past 59 years. They have a hole in them, so the locals could carry them on a string. These coins are much more difficult to find than the catalogue indicates, in fact we cannot remember the last time we had some. Priced at less than catalogue and a difficult coin to find.

South Africa, 1952 Threepence UNC

In 1952 King George VI died. The last ever British Silver Threepence was issued in his name up to 1944. But in South Africa they issued a Silver Threepence for circulation in 1952 and that is the coin we have on offer today. You have the bare head portrait of the King on one side and a plant and sticks of wood on the other. An interesting memento and if you have one of our George VI sets, even more interesting.
