KBA Giori Promotional Note Cash Cycle Caterpillar/Butterfly Unc

It is common practice for those involved in banknote printing to produce banknotes that show off their work. These are known as Promotional notes and are now being collected in their own right. They quite often have stunning designs and this one from the Swiss firm of KBA Giori is no exception. The front of this dazzling green piece shows a chrysalis on a plant. The back depicts a butterfly having emerged from the chrysalis. One of these Promotional notes will brighten up any album.

British Armed Forces 1/- 4th Iss PM28b Hole Cancelled Unc

After World War Two, the Ministry of Defence issued banknotes which were to be used on British bases all over the world. This was done to prevent black marketeering and lasted until the late 1980’s when the Berlin Wall came down and British bases in Germany were gradually run down. The use of this special military currency ceased. These Uncirculated 1 shilling notes were prepared for issue in 1962 (PM28b) and were part of a group which the Ministry of Defence sold in the late 1980’s. Before they could be sold they were cancelled with 2 holes. Crisp Uncirculated and very very rarely seen uncancelled.
