7 Fiji Dollars - 2017 - Commemorative Rugby Sevens (uncirculated)

Rugby Sevens is an obsession for the island nation of Fiji. In 2016 at the Rio Olympics, Fiji won its first ever Olympic Medal and this first and only Olympic medal was gold; won by the Fijian Rugby Sevens team after their triumph over the Great Britain squad with a score of 43-7. To mark this remarkable achievement and also to reflect the pride of the nation in the National team, a new legal tender 7 dollar banknote has just been issued. (P-New ) It’s a fabulous note. The front, printed vertically, features the Fijian flag, Ben Ryan, the national coach is depicted sitting on the Sigatoka Sand Dunes where the players run up during training and a main illustration of Captain Osea Kolinisau running with the ball. The back of the notes shows the Team with their medals, alongside the Prime Minister Josaia Voreqe Bainimarama and team officials. Viewed under Ultra Violet light the players' medals light up! A wonderful note in crisp uncirculated condition at £9.95.
