Elizabeth II, £2 Football Silver Proof, 1996

For those of you who like football, in 1996 the Royal Mint issued a special commemorative £2 coin for the European Championship that was held in this country. You have a most interesting and innovative design on this coin and one which they unfortunately have not repeated. You had the whole reverse covered by a football and with the planchet concave you have a stunning coin. We are offering the two Collector’s editions as issued by the Royal Mint. Featured here is the Sterling Silver proof variant. This was the last of the large sized £2 pieces and in our opinion the most attractive and innovative.

Edward VIII, GB Long Neck Crown

International Numismatic Agency did an Edward VIII for this country, which was a little different than the normal ones. They redid the bust of King Edward VIII with a rather long neck. They didn’t make many of them, so they are now in rather heavy demand from collectors. We bought 83 of them from a dealer who has retired, he bought 100 and forgot about them, only selling 17 of them. They are for Great Britain and are full crownsized struck in Uncirculated cupro-nickel. If you collect Edward VIII, chances are you do not have this one in your collection. Last chance!
