You will never find one of these in your change!

There are two good reasons for that. Firstly, they are the older large sized 10 Pence and they don’t circulate today. Secondly, and most importantly, they were never issued by the Mint for general circulation. So the only way to get one was to break up a Mint Set or Proof Set.
We have Brilliant Uncirculated examples on offer of this scarce coin that you will never find in your change.

If you collect UK coins by date then this is one that is likely to be missing from your collection and if 1986 is an important date for someone you know, then this just might make a nice little gift. After all they will probably never have seen one…

The 1984 Halfpence, Two Pence, Five Pence, Ten Pence and Fifty Pence were not struck for circulation. The only way to get one of these coins is to buy a Mint Set or Proof Set and break it up. They only made 158,820 of the Mint Set with the coins in Specimen Brilliant Uncirculated condition. That makes these coins some of the lowest mintage coins around. Offered here is the Twopence in Brilliant Uncirculated condition.

Picture of Elizabeth II, Shield Round Pound Uncirculated, 2009

Elizabeth II, Shield Round Pound Uncirculated, 2009

In 2009 the Royal Mint issued one of their last round pounds for circulation. Unfortunately most of the coins were used and very few were put aside for collectors. So Uncirculated examples are difficult to find and this date is missing from many collections. You have the Rank-Broadley bust of Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse and a shield on the reverse. The coins on offer were put aside in 2009 and thus are in Uncirculated condition. Nothing special about this coin, just that it is not easy to find these days in Uncirculated condition. We were happy to buy this group, as we know that many collectors will want an example for their collection. The round pound is no more so this is a good coin to add to your collection.
