1983 Round Pound Proof Set. The 1983 Royal Mint Proof Set contained the Round Pound for the first time. That was because the Round Pound was only issued for the first time in 1983. The set comes in a blue display case and contains the 1/2p, 1p, 2p, 5p, 10p, 50p and of course the Round Pound. As the Round Pound is no longer being made, this set is of double significance. Also the Halfpence, small Five Pence, Ten Pence and small Fifty Pence are also no longer being made. So the 1983 Proof Set has some wonderful coins in it.
