In 1980 the Royal Mint issued it’s first Proof Set for sometime with frosted coins. What I mean by frosted is, the field is Brilliant Proof and the bust, devices and lettering are Matt Proof. This is almost like a Wedgwood effect.

The public loved it with the new frosting. It is hard to believe but that was over 35 years ago, 1980!

You get the 50p, 10p, 5p, 2p, 1p and 1/2p all in Frosted Proof, all in the original case of issue with the original Royal Mint packaging. Of course over the past 35 years the coins will have toned a little, but we always send you the best set that we have in stock when your order arrives.
