George III, Halfpenny Fine, 1806

During the reign of King George III there was a great shortage of small change. The last type of Halfpenny issued for this Monarch were struck in 1806 and 1807. We recently purchased a nice group of the 1806 issue, the first year of issue in Fine and Very Fine condition. You have the bust of King George III dressed as a Roman on one side and the seated figure of Britannia on the other side. These were the last copper George III halfpennies issued. After the Currency Reform Act of 1816, they didn’t bother to issue any halfpennies.

Canada, Prince Edward Island 1c

One of the most North Eastern Provinces of Canada is Prince Edward Island. They only made a coin once for this area and that was in 1871. You have the crowned portrait of Queen Victoria on one side and a pine tree on the other. This was a large One Cent coin and it was the only coin ever struck for Prince Edward Island and it was minted for just one year, 1871. The coins are in Fine or better condition and if you are trying to put together one coin from each country, you will definitely need this one. Our agent has been going to Canada twice a year for two years to put this group together. After all there are a lot of people who want a coin from Prince Edward Island and not a lot of coins to go around. A very important type coin and the only coin of the country.
