Set of five: 1 Cent, 5 Cents, 10 Cents, 25 Cents and the crownsized $1.00. Dated 1970-1991. The Dollar is the tough one of the group. This is a small country with very low mintages
5 coins: and we certainly have never seen some of these coins before. 5, 20 & 50 Cents plus the 1 & 5 Gourdes. 1975-1995. A fantastic set of coins that most collectors have never seen.
10 coins: most of which you will never see in circulation in India, as they cost more to make than their face value. 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 25 and 50 Paise and 1, 2 & 5 Rupees 1950-2000. These modern coins of India are underappreciated, but not for too much longer.
In this set of Indonesian coins, you'll find 4 coins, three in aluminium and one in steel. All with portraits of famous Indonesians. The 100 Rupiah Prof. Dr. Herman Johannes, the 200 Rupiah has Dr. Tjiptomangunkusumo, the 500 has Letjen T.B. Simatupang, and the 1000 has Mr. I. Gusti Ketutpudia. As inflation is running high in Indonesia the coins cost more to strike than their face value. Brilliant Uncirculated coins and the first that we have seen all dated 2016 and a rather interesting group of coins.
One of our contacts found a hoard of 1968 Irish pre-Euro Mint Sets. Most of them went back to Ireland and the rest we were allowed to buy. The set comes in a green card holder inside a vinyl wallet. It contains Irish pre-euro coins in Uncirculated condition, but over the past 50 years the coins have mellowed a little. This 1968 Mint Set contains the 1d, 3d, 6d, Shilling and Florin. 1968 is an important set, it is the closest to the changeover to Euro coins. The set comes in a wallet and the coins are Uncirculated but may have mellowed over the years.
In 1928, for the first time, coins were issued for the now ‘Irish Republic’. We can offer the Penny, Halfpenny, Threepence, and Sixpence all dated 1928, the first year of the new coins, and of course new designs. The Halfpenny has a pig or sows on it, the Penny a hen with chicks, the Threepence a hare, and the Sixpence an Irish Wolfhound. All the coins are in Fine to Very Fine condition and have been hand-selected as to condition. The first coins of a new country and not easy to put together these days…
Thanks to Peter we are able to offer the complete collection of Irish Pennies 1928-1968, from the Irish Free State (later the Irish Republic) and Eire. It includes the scarce and rare dates including the 1940. There are a total of 21 different dates, as on a number of years no Pennies were minted, from the very beginning until Ireland went over to the Euro. We have a very limited number of collections in stock, the Penny is highly collected, especially in the United States and they are not easy to get. To make it even better the 1968 (the last year of issue) will be in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. The other coins will be in Fine or better condition. This is the first time we have been able to offer the complete date, collection and there might not be another chance. Again please be aware that you will receive all pennies issued over this period but some years no pennies were minted.
These four coins were issued in Israel in the 1960s and 1970s. They are no longer valid for use, but are an important part of their numismatic history. They are the 1, 5, 10 and 25 Agorot and are in uncirculated condition. Please remember that they are 40-50 years old and not many were put aside at the time. We think that at just £3.50 they are excellent value and for sure not easy to find.
Italy, like many European countries, had its own coinage before the Euro, but even then they were of very little value and almost no one put them away. As I remember there were about 2260 Lira to the Pound. The coins cost far more to make than their face value. Just to make it more interesting, the smaller coins have the largest denominations! You get the 5, 10, 20, 50, and 100 Lire coins of Italy dated between 1992 and 1998. All five coins are in Uncirculated condition and very difficult to find today. We can offer the five pre-Euro coins of Italy now almost 20 years old and in Uncirculated condition for just £4.95. A most interesting set of coins with a low face value and a high cost of striking.
Jordan has been in the news of late due to an attempted coup. Richard has been to Jordan twice and they are some of the nicest people he has met in the Middle East. We hope that everything is OK now and life returns to normal. We just got in a set of Jordanian coins which we had ordered some time ago, good timing for us and for you… The set comprises 5 coins of King Abdullah II, 1 Qirsh or Piastre, 5 Piastres, 10 Piastres, 1/4 Dinar nickel brass and 1/2 Dinar bi-metallic. All the coins are in Brilliant Uncirculated condition and it is not an easy set to get. Richard tried when he was in Jordan and failed to buy any, so we know it is tough.
The Lebanon has one of the most interesting histories in the Middle East. At one time it was known as the Monte Carlo of the Middle East. Then it spent years in turmoil and civil war, now it is starting to regain its place and stature in the world. We are very lucky to be able to get a 5 coin Mint Set from The Lebanon, as coins are not all that easy to get out of the country, especially Brilliant Uncirculated current coins. You get the 25 Livres, 50 Livres, 100 Livres, 250 Livres and the 500 Livres dated 1996-2006 all in Brilliant Uncirculated condition.

Lebanon used to be known as the Switzerland of the Middle East, now it is known as the Venezuela of the Middle East. Inflation is running wild and coins are almost never seen or used any more. Banknotes are used and their denominations are increased on a regular basis. There are five coins all in Brilliant Uncirculated condition: they are 25 Pounds, 50 Pounds with a sailing ship, 100 Pounds, 250 Pounds and 500 Pounds. They use to have coins for a fraction of a Pound and now they have them up to 500 Pounds. Definitely not an easy set to get, I am sure that these coins are already not in use because they are of too low a value.
7 coins four of them large to very large. 1999-2012, 5c and 20c plus ½, 1, 5, 10 and 20 Rupees the last one bi-metallic. The set is large and very interesting.
We have just had what can only describe as an incredible 7-coin Mexican Mint Set. Usually, Mint Sets contain the less expensive, and therefore most available coins, this one is different! You get the large-sized 5 and 10 Pesos from the 1970s & ’80s. Plus the $1, $5, $100, $200, and $500 coins were all good-sized and dated in the 1980s. These coins are in Uncirculated condition and almost impossible to find today. It was a lucky buy on our part and it will be a lucky purchase on your part too. We were only able to get 200 sets, once they are gone, they are gone. Don’t miss out when was the last time you saw Mexican coins like this for sale?
Having been to Nepal we can tell you that getting any coins is almost impossible in your change. The face value is so low that it costs more to strike the coins than you can spend them for. So we were very excited when we were offered a set of seven Uncirculated coins from Nepal. Six of them are struck in aluminium and the other in gold-coloured metal. You get 1, 2, 5, 5, 10, 25 and 50 Paisa. They have a crown, ox, horse, trident with sun and moon, and other symbols on the coins, most are from about 20-30 years ago. They are almost impossible to find in Nepal, but you can find them in London. You get all seven different Uncirculated coins! Try finding them elsewhere...
This is a set of the last coins struck for the Netherlands East Indies, but it is also a very special set of coins. First, they are the last coins of the Netherlands East Indies. Second, they were struck during World War II, and third, they were struck at the Philadelphia Mint in the United States. There are three coins all dated 1945, 1/2 Cent, 1 Cent, and 2 1/2 Cents all in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. A dealer friend of ours found them at the bottom of his cupboard. He found just 100 sets.
During World War II, despite all the fighting, the people still needed coins in their everyday life. Gresham’s Law is that bad money drives good money out of circulation. Basically that when you issue coins in a base metal, those struck in a precious or semi precious metal will disappear as a means of conserving assets. So in the Netherlands, coins that were originally struck in silver and copper, metals that were useful in the War, were replaced by coins struck in Zinc. This is a grey metal but it was all that was available. We have three different denominations 1 Cent, 10 Cents and 25 Cents. The 25 Cents has sailing ship on it. We offer the denomination type set of 3 coins: 2 different 1 cent coins, 3 different 10 cent coins and 2 different 25 Cents. All coins are in Very Fine condition but they are struck in Zinc not one of the most attractive metals.
