The coinage of King George III is rather strange, it is broken up into two sections, before the Currency Reform Act and after the Currency Reform Act. This Act was passed because of the shortage of coins, which the King because of his illness refused to allow to be made. So what did they do, after the Currency Reform Act of 1816 they struck Silver coins but did not bother to strike copper coins…! So the last design of King George III Halfpennies was issued in 1806 and 1807. It has the King’s bust with lauriate wreath on one side and a seated Britannia on the other side. These are the last George III Halfpences ever to be struck and they were struck in copper. In Very Good condition, which means that they have seen considerable wear

During the long reign of Queen Victoria, there were three distinct types of her bust used on our coinage. The first type was known as the Young Head type, as she ascended the Throne when she was only 17. This design was used for the next 50 years until she was 67! Then they used the Jubilee Head design, which was for her Golden Jubilee and this was used from 1887-1893. Finally, they used the Old Head design from 1893-1901. We offer the complete three-coin type set of Silver Threepences; dates will, of course, be of our choice as some are quite rare. All of these Threepences are struck in Sterling Silver and will be in Very Good or better condition. They have seen considerable usage and the newest one is over 110 years old. But you'll get all 3 types, Young Head, Jubilee Head and Old Head.

The coinage of King George V was struck from 1911-1936. From 1911 until 1919 his coins were struck in Sterling Silver and from 1920-1936 they were struck in 500 fine Silver. Although there were crowns struck occasionally, on a regular basis the largest non gold coin struck was the Halfcrown or Two Shillings and Sixpence. The coin offered here is the 1924 Halfcrown in selected circulated condition, but let’s be honest the older the coin, the more circulation you can expect.
