Golden Jubilee Souvenir Sheet & 3d

Golden Jubilee Souvenir Sheet & 3d

In 2002 the British Post Offi ce issued a Special Souvenir Sheet for the Golden Jubilee of H. M. Queen Elizabeth II. On it was a photo of a brass threepence. This souvenir sheet catalogues £15.00 in used condition. But the ones we have on off er are on a large cover and cancelled on the First Day of Issue (FDC). There is a hole where the brass threepence goes and on the cover we saw the coin was literally cellotaped on to the cover. We just could not force ourselves to ruin the cover and the coin. So we are giving you the FDC cover with the Souvenir Sheet that catalogues £15.00 plus a 1967 Brass Threepence in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. What you do with the two items, is up to you. Our price for the First Day Cover and Brilliant Uncirculated Brass Threepence is just £7.95 which is about half the catalogue value of used stamps on their own. At Coincraft when we make a good buy, our collectors make a good buy.

Picture of Golf PHQ set 1994

Golf PHQ set 1994

In 1994 the Post Office issued a set of four stamps for famous Golf Courses. They were St. Andrews, Carnoustie: Luckyslap, Turnberry 9th Hole and Royal Troon. They also issued what looks like postcards, but are actually called PHQ’s of these four stamps. Which means Post Office House of Questa. The House of Questa was the company that actually printed the stamps for the Post Office. We were offered the four PHQ’s at a price that we thought was fantastic, so we bought all they had, after all there are a lot of golf enthusiasts in the world. You can have all four PHQ’s which are now 25 years old at a very good price. Supplies are limited and they are excellent gifts for anyone interested in Golf and most will have never seen these.

Picture of New 1983 One Pound Coin FDC

New 1983 One Pound Coin FDC

On the 21st of April 1980, the Royal Mint struck for the first time a One Pound coin that was NOT made of gold. You had the youthful portrait of the Queen on one side and the arms of Great Britain on the other side. We just found some covers that we bought years and years ago which commemorate this first-ever non-gold Pound. It has a 15 1/2p stamp on it and a picture of the obverse and reverse of the new pound. It has a St. George and the dragon cancellation ‘National Coin Week – National Postal Museum London EC1’. Plus, a blue rubber stamp ‘Posted on the First Day of the Royal Mint Exhibition on the 18th of April 1983 at the National Postal Museum’ and ‘National Coin Week’. All you have to do is add a 1983 Pound and you have a heck of a display piece. We are not offering the coin as many collectors already have it.

Picture of Queen Elizabeth II Ship Visit To Tristan Da Cunha FDC 7 Head Pack

Queen Elizabeth II Ship Visit To Tristan Da Cunha FDC 7 Head Pack

Tristan da Cunha is one of three Atlantic Ocean island nations, ruled by a common British Governor; the other two are St. Helena and Ascension Island. The other two I have visited, but to visit Tristan on the RMS Ship, you have to be healthy enough to climb a rope ladder to get back on board, if the waves get too rough. Something I could not do. But in 1979 the Queen Elizabeth II ship did visit the island, it was the inaugural visit and as far as I know their only visit. Tristan issued a special souvenir sheet of five stamps all depicting ships and it comes in a full-colour booklet filled with information. But there is something even more important. On the back cover, there are the actual signatures of the leaders of the seven families that live on Tristan da Cunha. Oh, didn’t I tell you that only about 275 people live there? This is a unique souvenir sheet of mint stamps, informative booklets, and signatures of the seven families. We are selling it at a very reasonable price too...

Each of the four covers has a full-colour drawing of the Queen and each cover is hand signed by Julian Puckett for Gairsay. At this price, we think they are very interesting and attractive and we might say, very unusual.

Scotland_Christmas_Staffa_1981_stamp

Scotland, £8 Christmas Staffa 1981 (The Angel)

We have found this wonderful Staffa Gold, just in time for Christmas. Staffa is one of the Scottish islands and it issues its own stamps. This is an £8.00 stamp issued in 22ct gold foil in 1981. It features an Angel in the sky on this oversized large gold foil stamp. Now, these stamps are issued for local posting only, but it comes in a red gold embossed folder with a green inner. What could be more appropriate for Christmas than a gold foil Angel stamp in a red and green presentation folder? This stamp is now almost 40 years old. The face value was £8.00, the presentation folder cost a bunch and then there is the gold foil. So we think our price of just £14.50 is very reasonable and what a fantastic Christmas gift it would make for a collector or a youngster.

Picture of Sierra Leone Gold Jub CoinCover

Sierra Leone Gold Jub CoinCover

Sierra Leone was a British colony from 1808 until 1961. In 2002 when H.M. Queen Elizabeth II celebrated her Golden Jubilee they issued a handsome crown or $1.00 to honour the event. It is in a very large CrownCover. The crown shows the Queen with a very young Prince Charles looking out of a window at Buckingham Palace at the crowds. The cover has four full colour photographs of the Palace and the State Coach. There is also a four stamp souvenir sheet from Britain containing stamps to the value of 45p, 65p, 1st Class and ‘E’. All of the stamps have a different smiling photograph of the Queen. This crown is very scarce and hard to find, it is also Prooflike condition, the souvenir sheet is the first time we have seen it, so we guess both must be scarce and certainly interesting.
