Elizabeth II, Mint Set (Churchill) 1965 Unc
In 1965 the Royal Mint issued only the second coin in its long history to honour a non-Royal. The first time was in 1658 for Oliver Cromwell. This is the complete set of coins issued in 1965, 1/2d, 1d, brass 3d, 6d, English Shilling, Scottish Shilling, Florin, Halfcrown and Churchill Crown. All coins are dated 1965 and all coins are in Uncirculated condition. Next year will be the 150th anniversary of the birth of Sir Winston Churchill and no doubt there will great interest from collectors and the public alike. The set comes in an early Sandhill display case, the case is not perfect, after all it is now 58 years old, but the coins are. We just found them in one of our vault rooms but less than 50 sets available.
