Elizabeth II, Mint Set 1986 Specimen

In 1986 the Royal Mint issued their first ever non-Gold £2 coin, it was a commemorative for the Commonwealth Games which were held in Edinburgh. They of course were put in the 1986 Mint Set, which was a fast seller 26 years ago. But more importantly, four of the coins in that Mint Set were not struck for circulation! Those coins are the 5p, 10p, 20p, and 50p. That means if you need any of these four coins for your collection, then you have to break up a Mint or Proof Set. What the Mint didn’t tell you is the coins in this Mint Set are not Uncirculated, no; they are Specimens that are much better quality. Each 1986 Mint Set contains: £2, £1, 50p, 20p, 10p, 5p, 2p and 1p, of which four coins were not struck for circulation.
