The author Ernest Hemingway is known for his love of Cuba, of course that was before Castro. He is best known for his short story, ‘The Old Man and the Sea’. In 1982 Cuba issued commemorative coins to honour both Hemmingway and that story. We can offer you two of those coins; the first has a full portrait of the bust of Hemingway complete with beard. The second coin has a fisherman in a small boat. Together these two cupronickel coins catalogue in Uncirculated condition at $30.00 (£18.75). These are the first that I can remember having and they should appeal to everyone. The mintage is listed as being only 7,000 pieces of each coin and is therefore low mintage pieces. You can own the Hemingway pair in Uncirculated condition for only £14.50, which saves you £4.25 on the catalogue price. They make excellent gifts
