Some seven years ago, someone decided to issue a fantasy coin for the Principality of Sealand. It is a bit of fun and to be honest they did an excellent job on it.
On the obverse are the Arms of Sealand with two sea beasts on either side of a crowned shield. The reverse has Orca the whale and the legend ‘Treasures of the Sea’.
It was issued as a bit of fun, but it contains one ounce of pure Silver and is struck in Proof condition. A bit of fun and if you know someone, who is into whales, this would make a whale of a present! OK, so the joke was poor, but this piece is handsome and at only £22.50 it won’t break the bank…
