Central illustrations honour the heroes of the Revolution- J Marti on the 1 peso, Che Guevara on the 3 pesos, A Maceo on the 5 pesos , M Gomez on the 10 pesos and C Cienfuegos on the 20 pesos. Several of the backs also reflect momentous moments of the Revolution which installed Fidel Castro as leader of the Caribbean island in 1962.
