In 1994 the Royal Mint issued a Pound coin with the Scottish reverse. It was part of the series for England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland. One coin issued each year.
For collectors the Royal Mint issued specimens in Proof Sterling Silver and for advanced collectors they issued specimens in Piedfort or double thickness Proof Sterling Silver.
It is that double thick coin that we can now offer you. The total mintage, I believe, was 11,722 coins, which makes it an important collector’s coin.
