In 1983 the first non-gold Pound coin for circulation was issued. The Royal Mint issued a special bubble package for collectors and this has turned out to be rather difficult to obtain. For some reason the only coins that I have ever seen have been from overseas distributors of Mint products.
A while ago we purchased what I believe is the last supply in the world, again from an overseas dealer. These Pound coins are difficult to get in Uncirculated condition and the bubble packs especially so. It is now 21 years old and in all that time only two small hoards have ever shown up.
If you want the first Pound and you want it in the scarce bubble pack then order it now! This is the last lot left anywhere in the world! |
