In 1953 the Royal Mint issued new coins for the new Queen, Elizabeth II. But the legend was different from all the coins that were to come, so that the 1953 coins and the Farthing in particular are one year type coins. This is important because there were only 4 dates of Elizabeth II Farthings ever issued, 1956 being the last date of issue. Because the 1953 Coronation Farthing is a one year type, it is also the most difficult one to get in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. The Sixpence or Tanner, as it was called, was one of the most liked coins of its day. In fact, it was so well-liked that it was still legal tender till well after decimalization came into effect! You'll get all the dates: 1953, 1954, 1955, 1956, 1957, 1958. 1959, 1960, 1961, 1962, 1963, 1964, 1965, 1966 and 1967. All the scarce and rare dates are included.
