George V, Halfcrown (.500 Silver) 1929 Circulated

The coinage of King George V was struck from 1911-1936. From 1911 until 1919 his coins were struck in Sterling Silver and from 1920-1936 they were struck in 500 fine Silver. Although there were crowns struck occasionally, on a regular basis the largest non gold coin struck was the Halfcrown or Two Shillings and Sixpence. The coin offered here is the 1929 Halfcrown in selected circulated condition, but let’s be honest the older the coin, the more circulation you can expect. We always give you the best coin we have in stock at that time.

George V, Shilling (2nd type .500 Silver) 1927 Circulated

When you joined the services, it was said that you ‘took the King’s shilling’. So it is appropriate that this issue we offer ‘The King’s Shilling’. There were two distinct types of these George V Shillings. From 1920-1926 they carried on with the design used on the Sterling Silver coinage. From 1927-1936 the design was changed to a Lion proudly standing on a crown. Presented here is 2nd type of the 1927 'King's Shilling'. The coins is in selected circulated condition and struck in .500 silver.

Charles III 2024 Silver 1/10 Britannia_obv

Charles III 2024 Silver 1/10 Britannia

The smallest silver coin issued by the Royal Mint is the 1/10th Britannia, containing one tenth of an ounce of pure silver. Under the late Queen Elizabeth II, they only issued it once in uncirculated condition and that was in 2006. They have just released the first ever 1/10th Britannia for King Charles III dated 2024. This coin has a nominal face value of 20 Pence and they are in Prooflike Uncirculated condition. The last lot we had sold out very quickly but the rise in the cost of silver has meant that we had to increase our price slightly.
